Choosing the right time conversion
Time conversions use familiar fixed relationships for ordinary elapsed-time calculations: 60 seconds per minute, 60 minutes per hour, 24 hours per day, and seven days per week.
Calendar dates are different. Months and years vary in length, and civil time can be affected by time zones and daylight-saving changes, so they should not be treated as fixed-duration units without context.
